BREEAM “Excellent” certification for the Messeturm in Frankfurt: a milestone in sustainability

The Messeturm, one of Frankfurt’s best-known landmarks, has been awarded the prestigious BREEAM certification in the “Excellent” category. This recognition reflects the building’s outstanding achievements in terms of sustainability and energy efficiency.

Innovative modernization and sustainable technologies

In collaboration with the renowned architect Helmut Jahn, the Messeturm was extensively modernized to meet the latest standards for contemporary office buildings. Particular attention was paid to the lobby, which is now designed as an inviting communal area. The use of plants and a waterfall brings nature into the building, which not only improves the air quality but also creates a pleasant atmosphere.

In technical terms, the exhibition tower has been brought up to date. The refrigeration systems and cooling towers have been modernized and new, speed-controlled fans have been installed. These measures lead to considerable savings in operating costs and at the same time improve the building’s energy efficiency. The use of certified green electricity to supply the technical installations underlines the commitment to renewable energies.

Perfect location and excellent connections

The Messeturm is in a prime location in the immediate vicinity of Messe Frankfurt and the banking district. With direct access to the subway station and only a few minutes to the main railway station, the building is optimally connected to public transportation. There are also excellent connections to the A5, A3 and A66 freeways via the nearby feeder roads.
